Hybrid

Wasn't rele too sure where to put this, being a new member and all but i figured I'd put it in here since its a question. Anybody know if you can make a hybrid of a Humulus (beer hops) plant and a Cannabis (marijuana) plant? They are identical (genetically) except Genus and Species.

Humulus:
Kingdom: Plantae
Division: Magnoliophyta
Class: Magnoliopsida
Order: Rosales
Family: Cannabaceae
Genus: Humulus
Species: H. lupulus

Cannabis:
Kingdom: Plantae
Phylum: Magnoliophyta
Class: Magnoliopsida
Order: Rosales
Family: Cannabaceae
Genus: Cannabis
Species: C. sativa

I don't think so.

I read about it close to 40 years ago, and if it could be done, they would be on the market.

I`m no horti scientist but I think the genus is the key, needs to be the same to produce a true cannabis plant, prolly can make a hybrid of those 2 but wont be worth smokin, but I`m smokin so IDK, lol
