A federal judge sentenced a Mexican national to 24 years in prison for a marijuana grow operation in the Boise National Forest.

A surveillance picture shows Juan Pablo Villasenor-Villa giving supplies and directions to workers.

Another photo shows some of the miles of irrigation tubing removed from the site.

U.S. Attorney Wendy J. Olson says the sentence is for growing the plants, possession of large quantities of harvested marijuana with intent to distribute, and damage to federal public lands.

He was convicted in November following a one-week jury trial. Five other participants have already received sentences up to about nine years.

Authorities discovered the two large marijuana growing operations in the Boise National in Boise County in September 2013.

Authorities destroyed about 7,000 marijuana plants.

In addition to the jail sentence, Villasenor-Villa is ordered to pay more than $33,000 in restitution.
