Researchers with Tel Aviv University recently evaluated 19 patients, between the ages of 69 and 101 for a period of one year. The participants were given cannabis three times a day. Prior to the study, these men and women suffered from chronic pain, muscle spasms, tremors, lack of appetite and other health concerns common to the typical aging population.

Of the 19 participants, 17 achieved a healthy weight within the year, as well as a decrease in pain and better sleep. The researchers were most surprised by the decrease in need for prescription drugs, such as anti-psychotics and mood stabilizers.
