Von Veeder Veld of Rapid City will also perform with sounds of psychedelic experimental rock, Tommy the Silent of Spearfish will play as well, however, the time of the performance was not available as of press time. Other musical guests at this year's Hemp Throw Down include Rapid City's Dog War,

Lakota Hemp Days will follow the Hemp Throw Down on Monday Sept. 22 through Friday Sept. 26. Lakota Hemp Days will feature tipi camping, organic meals from Organinis Kitchen, horse rides, wild buffalo and laid back camaraderie. Wind and solar energy systems will also be on display by High Plains Wind and Solar Energy.

At the Hempcrete Community Center, attendees will be allowed to use the hemp break to test the strength of wild hemp plants. You will also be able to see how homemade hemp paper is made with the Hollander beater.

The community center was the first structure in North America to feature American Limetec's patented Hemcrete walls, which are fireproof, waterproof, earthquake resistant, rodent resistant and have tremendous thermo mass characteristics that allow the walls to breath. This process keeps homes warm in the winter and cool in the summer saving the homeowner around 50 percent off their energy costs. The hempcrete community center is just the beginning of a sustainable living center that will be built near Kiza Park, setting the green/eco example on Pine Ridge Reservation.
