Legislators in Ohio are looking to make the state the thirteenth to legalize the medical use of marijuana. Lawmakers announced their new bill May 21 in Columbus.

The bill would set up an advisory board that would oversee the process of granting marijuana permits for those with constant pain from illness or injury.

The bill would also set up a card holder system, to ensure the person using marijuana has the legal right to obtain it.

"I'm a domestic violence survivor," stated medical marijuana supporter, Tonya Davis.

"I was beaten so badly that I have domestic violence induced scoliosis and I have a crippling terminal disease and a lot of other medical conditions."

Previous bills aimed at legalizing medicinal marijuana have failed to pass in Ohio.
