A thief crashed a stolen car through the glass front of a Mira Mesa medical marijuana clinic Monday morning and made off with several pot plants, authorities said.

Co-Op Mira Mesa, which sits in the middle of a strip mall on Camino Ruiz near Zapata Avenue, was hit just after 4 a.m., police said.

The marijuana clinic has been hit before, most recently on February 21, when some plants and a baggie of pot was stolen by someome who broke through the roof.

In that case, officers arrested a man whose wallet was found inside the laundry next door. He had apparently broken into the laundry by mistake and dropped his wallet before he broke into the clinic, police said.

He was arrested after police saw him walking by the business and recognized him from the ID card in the wallet
