Springfield, Massachusetts — Hampden Care Facility Inc. wants to put a medical marijuana dispensary in the city of Springfield, but first, they'll have to convince city councilors that they should be the only dispensary in the city for a decade.

Hampden Care Facility would put the medical marijuana dispensary in a building located at 506 Cottage Street in Springfield.

The proposed agreement between the city of Springfield and Hampden Care Facility Inc. would make them an exclusive medical marijuana dispensary for a period of 10-years. One of the conditions in the host agreement says: "The city shall not issue a letter of support or non-opposition to another company."

Springfield Mayor Dominic Sarno has asked the city council to approve the host agreement, but many of them are concerned one dispensary could cause problems down the road.

We're still waiting to find out when the city council will vote on this proposal.
