Medical Marijuana Moratorium Passes In Deer Lodge

Montana - There will be no growing, distribution or processing of medical marijuana in Deer Lodge for at least the next six months.

Deer Lodge City Council member Tom Goddard says last night the city council passed ordinance 136, a six-month moratorium on medical marijuana.

City council President John Molendyke says this moratorium prohibiting new medical marijuana growth, distribution and processing within Deer Lodge replaces the emergency 90-day moratorium that was passed in April. He says, during the next six months, they will try to get zoning regulations in place to get control of medical marijuana growth in the city. If at the end of the six months they still don't have zoning regulations set, they can extend the moratorium for another six months.
