Medicinal Marijuana Clinic Visits Great Falls

With the recent ban on medical marijuana businesses in Great Falls, there have been some concerns that it may be more difficult for Great Falls cardholders to get their marijuana. But for those people who don't have a medical marijuana card yet, a traveling clinic stopped in Great Falls today to introduce doctors and patients.

The Montana Caregivers Network, based in Missoula, hosted the clinic to set patients up with doctors who prescribe marijuana. The network believes there are some misconceptions about the traveling clinics. "We facilitate the access to those doctors and you have people in pain come here to get a recommendation because it's the only place they can. It's their last resource. And we travel around because you know access is hard in Montana and medicinal marijuana makes it doubly so," Chris Arneson said.

According to the Montana Caregivers Network, the doctors at today's clinic did not sell anything, and not every patient walks away with a card. The Network said it expected to see about 50 people at today's clinic. Officials say with less people attending the clinic doctors are able to spend more time with each patient.
