I got a speaker box that is 1x1x3. my friend grew in it before and it has 3 120mm computer fans in it, 2-6" from the top for exhaust and 1 at the bottom being an intake with 2-2in holes being passive. my friend grew in this box with a 250watt hps. Now my question, i was going to get a 135watt LED ufo but then i looked and saw most growers keep LEDs about 18" from the top of the plant because of bleaching and the pot at the bottom being 8" high it doesnt leave much room to grow so im asking if should i go with a 250 watt hps like my friend did or just use cfls/ tube fluorescent or is it ok to use a LED UFO in my small box? btw im going to be lst and there is a hole for a HPS 6" from the top. thanks in advance.

Thats a really tiny space for a HID lamp. Heat may become a problem. LED's and CFL's will not produce as much heat and I would think would be easier to control in the small space. Check out VictorVonDooms small grow in a mini fridge with CFL's.
