New Hps question

I just got my light it comes with two end pieces should I use these. Are they just for extra reflection? For those that don't understand it comes with a batwing look. then these two pieces to put on the end. What is best. I am only growing two plants under the light at one time.

i think they are the end caps.. so light wont go right out the ends..

it reflects the light down, not out....

I have them on now. but they were not attached out of the box. thats why I posed the queestion. Thanks...
