NY: Police Seize 41 Pounds Of Marijuana From SUNY Oswego Student

A State University College at Oswego student was arrested after a traffic stop for carrying 41 pounds of marijuana, university police said.

John J. Turano Jr., 19, was charged Sunday with felony possession of marijuana, police said.

Turano is a sophomore at SUNY Oswego and is originally from Whitestone in Queens.

He also was charged with possession of a controlled substance, a seventh-degree misdemeanor, and vehicular equipment violations and an infraction, police said.

Turano was arraigned before Judge Donald Nipper in Palermo Town Court and remanded to Oswego County Jail on $10,000 cash or $20,000 bond.
