Hello,
How do those carbon/charcoal filters work,do they really work at all, I want it to do two things suck hot air out and filter at the same time form the top of a room,is that a good idea,do they filter from the inside of the filter or the outside of the filter?,do they need to be used on the floor of a room?

Yeah man they work. They are filled with activated charcoal, the same kind used in aquarium filters, or the filtler in your oven hood. They filter out almost 100% odor, and are well worth it. You can either suck hot odorous air through it, or blow it through. They are designed to filter from inside to outside. Hope this helps.
