Police Raid Medical Pot Operation In Paw Paw

The Van Buren County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit searched a house in Paw Paw Wednesday afternoon and seized 2.8 pounds of processed marijuana. The raid also netted THC gell capsules, scales, drug paraphernalia, packaging materials and cash.

Police say they had conducted an investigation into manufacturing and distributing medical marijuana out of a house at 624 Elm Street in the Village of Paw Paw.

They went into the house at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, and found an indoor grow outfit with four marijuana plants, which were located in a bedroom closet. Police also seized $380 in cash.

There are two suspects in this case--a 25-year-old man from Paw Paw, and a 23-year-old woman from Paw Paw. Police say neither suspect was arrested, and that they will seek charges "at a later date" for: Manufacture Marijuana, Possession with intent to Deliver Marijuana and Maintaining a Drug House.
