The Colorado Court of Appeals orders Colorado Springs police to return 55 marijuana plants and almost 7 pounds of processed marijuana they seized from a cancer patient who was later acquitted of drug charges.

Bob Crouse picked up his medical marijuana on Friday. "I'm so very thankful," said Crouse.

Crouse uses marijuana oil to treat his leukemia.

Unfortunately, after being housed by police for a year and a half, the plants were dead. Crouse said they will test the processed marijuana to see if any of it is salvageable.

"When I walked into this I felt I hadn't violated any laws, but felt my rights had been violated. I didn't know if I could get a fair trial," said Crouse.

An emotional Crouse went onto thank the community for their support.

"In some instances, the government in their best interest of doing things good for the community makes mistakes," he said.

Crouse said he doesn't plan to sue the city for his damaged medical marijuana.
