Sauget Marijuana Dispensary Warns Of Bogus Craigslist Ad

The manager of a planned southern Illinois medical marijuana dispensary is warning prospective employees to steer clear of an online ad that purports to offer high-paying retail jobs.

TGS Illinois received the first state license to open a medical cannabis retail store in early February. The company, a subsidiary of a Denver-based chain, plans to open its Sauget location in October in a St. Clair County medical office complex near St. Louis.

Company officials tell the Belleville News-Democrat that a Craigslist ad offering $25-an-hour jobs for security guards, receptionists and other TGS Illinois positions is bogus.

Vice president of operations Tanya Griffin said job-seekers who send resumes to the website linked to the Craigslist ad could unknowingly be providing valuable contact information to phishing scam artists.
