Slow Going For Colorado Pot Regulations

Marijuana regulation is moving at a snail's pace in Colorado, where lawmakers held a third hearing on the drug Friday but agreed to only one vote.

Colorado ad-hoc House-Senate committee to consider marijuana regulation voted unanimously Friday to approve noncontroversial "responsible vendor" language allowing future pot shops to sign up employees for training in following the still-unwritten rules.

The committee talked into the night about more controversial parts of marijuana legislation, including pot labeling and potency. No votes were taken on those proposals.

The panel didn't even get to a planned discussion on whether to try to prevent marijuana tourism by limiting the drug to state residents. Another committee meeting was planned next week.
