Your pot is in the mail.

That's a refrain customers of the Cannabis Supply Co. soon may be hearing.

The store, which opened its doors at 164 Colborne St. W. in late January, is expanding its business. Starting Monday, store employees will help customers obtain a medical marijuana licence and get the product they need.

"When we opened in January we had a lot of people ask us about how they would go about getting a licence and getting product," said Josh Millar, co-owner of store.

He said that the store has the names and contact information for 37 people, who are looking to get their medical marijuana licences.

People who want a licence can visit the store and book an appointment to have a telephone consultation with a physician. The consultation takes place at the store and lasts 20 to 30 minutes, Millar said.

If approved by the physician, the customer then is taught about various marijuana products. Once a selection is made, the store places an order with a supplier and the product is delivered by courier to the customer.

"We don't have any product on site," Millar said. "We order it from a supplier in British Columbia and they send it to the customer."

He said that the store has arranged for two out-of-town physicians to provide the telephone consultations.

The store, which sells bongs, or water pipes, used to ingest marijuana, as well as pipes and vaporizers, hopes to one day sell medical marijuana but that requires approval from Health Canada.

Potential producers and sellers of medical marijuana must undergo a lengthy screening process, which includes a heavy emphasis on security.
