The state Assembly is expected to vote Monday on a measure that would ease restrictions on New Jersey's medical marijuana laws.

The bill would allow dispensaries to grow more than three kinds of marijuana. Advocates say a broader range of marijuana types could help treat specific medical conditions, in adults and children. Currently, there is a cap on how many marijuana strains can be grown.

Advocates say the diversity in marijuana types will make it easier to convert the drug into non-smokeable forms to benefit sick children and others patients.

Since the Senate has already approved the bill, it would go to Gov.Chris Christie for his signature if it passes the Assembly.
