Malaspina student found with a kilogram of marijuana in his car
maintained the drugs were for personal use Wednesday.
Federal Crown David Lobay told Judge Eldon Iverson Oceanside RCMP pulled
the man over while he was driving in Parksville Sept. 21, discovering the
drugs in his car and charging him with possession.
Though surprised at the quantity of marijuana involved, Iverson did not
question the accused's explanation. He sentenced the man to pay a $1,000
fine by April 1, 2002.
