Supes To Hear Merits Of Marijuana Ballot Measure

San Francisco - This June 8, voters could vote on a policy statement about medical marijuana.

Introduced by Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi, the policy statement will be heard by the Rules Committee Thursday. It would require six votes by the full board to place it on the ballot.

If approved by voters, it would make it The City's official policy that "The City shall license, regulate and tax the cultivation and sale of cannabis, and allow for adults 21 years of age or older to posses cannabis for both medical and non-medical uses in strict compliance with the state vehicle and penal codes and prohibitions against consuming cannabis in public spaces and in the presence of minors."
