Topping and Fimming

New member here...Ive been reading alot and just wanted to know the purpose of topping or fimming? Is it to keep the plants short? Or for a bigger yield?

Welcome aboard Chron. When you FIM (AKA f#%k I missed) or top it, it will grow two main stems from that point instead of one increasing budding sites and growing two main colas. It also slows the vertical growth a bit while recovering. To control height Low Stress Training(LST) is good for keeping the shortest height possible and still getting a good yield.

I'll be growing outside...so not worried on how tall they get...Just would like the most possible yield...Thought about the many tops or colas versus just the one...Wondering if the weights of the many sites would be more or less than the 1 top?
