Mark Zartler wants the world to know the benefits that cannabis has had in his daughter with autism. The Texan father shared a video on his Facebook page pleading for state law to allow the use of THC vapors to ease symptoms like mood swings and aggression.

"Cannabis is the best medicine, by far, for halting acute behaviors," Zartler says in the post. The heartbreaking video shows his daughter, Kara, inflicting harm on herself until she is treated with cannabis vapor. "Vapor is not harmful. It is not smoke. High-THC cannabis treatments always work," the dad claims.

Zartler says the cannabis vapors are more effective at stopping Kara's acute behaviors than prescription drugs and have been "100% of the time." He explains, "It stabilizes her mood within minutes. Her good mood usually lasts all day."

To those concerned about Zartler's unconventional and somehow controversial method, he says there is no need for worry. "We've observed no developmental slippage or negative side effects. On the contrary, she's made remarkable developmental progress over the last year. Improved awareness and focus. Gains in life skills."

Zartler believes that passing a medical cannabis bill in Texas could potentially help others with autism who are also prone to self-harm. "We need a hearing to make our case to our legislators and the public."
