Why does everyone only seem to use clay pellets for dwc?

Hey I was just wondering why I only see people using clay pellets in there dwc. Would I be able to use grow wool? I have quite a bit of it.

In my experience rockwool holds too much moisture in dwc to be the primary medium.. I had root and stem base issues with it just using it as a rooter. Clay pebbles are cheap and reusable.
Im sure you could use just wool just to much of a pita for me.

Fair enough might go get some clay pellets once the local shop is open thank you for your input cheers

You can grow only in rockwool. Its just like hydro. I think thats for expert growers though.
