WI: WEEDSTOCK PERMIT DENIED, THEN GRANTED

I went up to Beaver Dam, Wisconsin at 2 this afternoon to apply for a
Park Reservation Permit to conduct Weedstock on Memorial Day, May 27.

The Parks and Recreation Department's Phone system indicate's they're
available to anyone, on a "first come, first serve" basis.

The Parks and Rec Director acknowledged there was no prior reservation.
The Mayor then came, and ordered her to deny. I explained I'd have to
haul him into Federal court, and sue him personally, in addition to the
City, and that in Civil rights injuncive actions they'd be liable for my
Attorney's fees, which can pile up pretty quick at $285 an hour.

By 4:00 I was home calling media, and the tale went out immediately on Radio.

At 6:02 the Parks director called, to inform me that my permit had been
issued after all. I'm guessing that the City Council takes a greater
interest in the taxpayers money than Mayor Olson.

Joel Winnig, Democratic Candidate for Attorney General has confirmed to
speak, as has Bernie Dalsey, Green Party Candidate for the State
Assembly 31st District. I'm still hoping to hear from Ed Thompson.
