A two-day conference promoting cannabis awareness, the health benefits of medical marijuana and the environmental and economic benefits of hemp is scheduled for next week at the Hyatt Regency Resort & Spa, according to an announcement.

The Maui Cannabis Conference runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Jan. 6 and 7. The conference is open to the public, and a medical cannabis license is not required for entry.

Tickets are $20 each day, $50 for a VIP Party and $75 for an all-access pass. The VIP Party will take place from 8 to 11 p.m. Jan. 6 in the Monarchy Ballroom.

The event will feature nine educational panels with more than 30 cannabis experts, an exhibition and vending marketplace, and a VIP Party featuring a bikini fashion show and music. Keynote speakers include West and South Maui Sen. Roz Baker, Oahu Sen. Will Espero of Ewa Beach, Andrew DeAngelo of Harborside Dispensary, and Doug Fine, best-selling author of "Hemp Bound."

It also includes a pitch lesson and casting call for the fourth season of the Amazon Prime series "The Marijuana Show" – a reality program similar to ABC's "Shark Tank."
