I learned to grow with either miracle grow or rapid grow. My mentor, a family member, has used it for years and years. I think it gets a bad rap because so many people burn there plants with it. It works just fine though if you know what you are doing. I don't use it now though...I prefer organics.

I use peat pellets and the little trays with the humidity dome. No problems as all. I like them. Quick, easy, and takes up very little space to start many at one time.

I'm in the great lakes area. Winter here freaking sucks! Its been nice all week though. Spring weather is lighting a fire under my ass to start getting ready for the outdoor season!

You do have a point. Though I think the advantages far outweigh the very slight disadvantages. I'm in the catagory of people who want one.
