Just switched last week to botanicare last week and my plants look great. The guy at the hydro store says that is what he uses.

You can score the seed with some sandpaper. Last night I scratched up 2 G-Force seeds soaked for 2 hrs, then to a parer towel. Right now they both have about 2-3ml tap roots sticking out of them. The scratch help the seed absorb water faster.:goodluck:

I don't know about that being safe for roots. They can grow pretty large. What worked for me was using a lg cooler for my rez and keeping my air pump in a cool area, with air movement to keep it cool.

about the heart burn, I have acid reflex. When I need the pain to go away quickly(faster than a pill will do), I eat an apple. That works surprisingly good.:goodluck:
