Officers were waiting on the beach after the drugs vessel was detected by the SIVE electronic surveillance system

A Civil Guard operation on the Campo Soto beach in San Fernando this weekend has seized more than one ton of cannabis resin.

It happened early on Sunday, when the SIVE electronic surveillance system detected a small vessel navigating, without lights, towards the Sancti-Petri castle.
It was tracked to Campo Soto, where officers were waiting to make the arrests.

The two crew members are 42 year old J.C.P. from El Puerto de Santa MarÃa, and a un-named Moroccan man. 41 packages of cannabis – weighing a total of 1,230 kilos – were confiscated.

A smaller amount of cannabis resin – 700 kilos
seized in an operation in Manilva last November.
