Drying question. How long is too long?

I had some plants growing on a friends property and he harvested them and brought them to my house for me. Unfortunately at the time I was disabled so it wasn't easy for me to get around to gather up things and trim and jar, etc. Hell even to go piss was a nightmare. However I am able now and have trimmed a couple of the plants. BUT, three more are still hanging in my shed. New baby, holidays among other things have delayed trimming. Its been about 6 weeks they've been hanging in there. It is the wet/cold season here so the plants are not all dried out and crispy as u may think. They are fairly moist IMO. But am I ruining them by not having them trimmed up and curing in their jars? I felt that as long as they weren't drying out they would still cure, whether hanging in full form or packed into a jar. Any insight on this would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
