Early vegetative trimming and LST

Hey guys this is my first time LST'ing, and I want to know if I should trim some of the leaves (orange) while doing the LST, because some of the lower growing leaves are getting light blocked as seen in the image below

And I was thinking if I should place a new string (, as the first and only one is here currently (orange)

so it would end up something like this

Random question: I saw some people cutting the tips of the fan leaves, does that help in anything? Or is it some sort of special process

Either of your ideas will work fine, or you could do nothing at all just yet and wait for one or two more nodes
As for clipping tips of fan leaves, I've only seen that done to cuttings to reduce transpiration while they root
