First Time Grow, 2x4 Tent Six Bulb T5ho White Widow & Early Miss Organic Grow

So it’s been a few days , some things have changed, I’m excited anyways!

I was looking at my photos and looks like I got the ‘birth’ date wrong , their day one was sept 16th, so they are just about to go to lights out on day 11

I uppotted then last night, early miss seems to be doing great, white widow seems a little smaller but healthy.

I knew I over watered the widow a bit, before I learned of Emilya infamous watering technique.
I used this for early miss and she quite liked it

So when I upppotted I could see the widow was still too wet. But should be happy now being able the stretch them roots!

Here’s a few,
More tonight when I’m home , get some close ups

Thinking of topping soon, little nervous to be honest!
Maybe not the widow just cause smaller, next few days will tell see if they like their new home

Temp 26c rh 60%

When these plants are ready for water will start with the nutes at a 1/4 strength, using green planet - medi one

Happy Friday growers:yahoo:

Widow on left and solo , roots are early miss

That’s awesome old salt, I’m gonna be hitting the vape store today for droppers

Maybe a stupid question, but do you just dilute with dechlorinated tap water or bottle??
1tbsp ph 9tbsp h2o......??

Actually have a home for all my grow gear now so exciting to fill up the cupboard!

Also I luv the FYI info, Little tid bits can make life a lot easier thx!

I use the water from my RO.

Looking good! My CKS WW autos started off really funky too and then took off. I'll be following along for the ride.

Thanks jctj ! Workin on it, they seem to be coming to life a bit more which is nice.

Glad to hear u had a funky start too, reading up on ur journal right now , pretty sweet, you almost got me drooling:p

Glad to have ya,
Hope to make it one hell of a journey, I’ll be running into topping territory soon...... pick your brain a little then, at the literal turning point ;) I’m so on the fence!
No risk no reward so I hear....

So a question about nutes......I’m leaning towards more personal pref for this answer but I’d love some options ,

but is there the perfect time to start introducing nutes?

I’ve read some people even germ with a slight solution, others r nutes from first real watering till the very end....... or until final flush...... is they flush..... that is a diff debate lol

I’ll post pics here tonight, also, topping.....?

Above third node or fourth? Again personal preference?

They just started lights on day 12, I think one more day or two until the decision.

Also this will b the first watering since transplant , if that makes a diff for nutes. I’m waiting so patiently, which isn’t my nature, to water them..... it’s tough but working great!

Hope all is having a stellar sat night :slide:

See the plant at harvest. Grow the plant to match your vision.

Check out quadlining, and Nugbucket's Mainline/manifold method for training methods to determine where to top.

Topping between nodes three and four gives you two main branches, and is used to put each cola the same number of nodes away from the roots. This is the start of Nugbucket's Mainline/manifold method.

Topping between nodes four and five gives you four main branches, two from node three, and two from node four. This is the start to quadlining.

When to start feeding your plant depends on how you are growing. In general, the plant seeks nutrients as soon as those in the seed are used. As long as they are present in the substrate or growing medium you don't need to add them. As I grow in coco/perlite, I start adding nutrients when the first leaves appear. Soil grows can often go six weeks or more before they need nutrients. Find a journal, or ask someone who is using the same substrate or growing medium as you intend to use.

Thanks so much old salt

And what I vision I have.......
Great way to think of it though , really like that

Great response and again back reading and researching.

Great info, the Nugbucket meathod is pretty epic!

Over my past reading a honesty thought mainlining and quadlining were the same, now I know. Very early for learning but means it’ll b a good day :thumb:
And I’ll hold off on the nutes then, you’ve convinced me

The end of day 12

Looking good, almost decision time on topping or which route to take, honestly I just want a decent quality product with a decent harvest.
Know it won’t be professional but it’ll b mine , so exciting:yahoo:

Happy Sunday all

Early miss are the first 3 widow the others
And threw the coach in there for the girls, it Sunday..... go hawks!

Good morning growers,

The girl are doing well in their new home, I want to water but the meter still says it’s fine......
and the plants look happy, so I’m going to continue to wait!
I’ve heard somewhere ‘you’re plants will seem as dry as the Sahara, but they will thrive, watch them and he’ll tell you when they’re thirsty’

When I transplanted I moistened the new soil, not wet just moist, but thinking that 5gal pots with moist soil is a lot for such small plants. Wondering if I shoulda used 3gal pots.

Trial and error, maybe the next grow will b 3gal, so many options.

Patients is very hard, hopefully that is the hardest part of this grow but we are still early, so I doubt it!

The early miss has steady solid growth, the widow is still a little runty but starting to look like it wants a spurt.

Here a few photos at the end of day 15

Widow is the first two, em the other, looks like it’s coming up just over the fourth node,
Maybe able to snip tonight when I get home...... worth topping ??

Happy Tuesday y’all

Looking good! It can take a couple grows with autos planted in their final pots to get a good handle on the watering requirements early on. It's very easy to over water in the early stages, I even managed to do it in 3 gal fabric pots.

With that size of plant and 5 gallons of pre-moistened soil you'd be surprise how long it can take before it needs another watering.

Great to know jctj!

Thanks for that info cause I was figuring I must be ready for water!
But like u say, enough moisture for small plants, I have misted to tops a couple times, mostly just to give the humidifier a break, but I’ll just have to trust my moisture meters and be patient, crazy to think I’ve only ever watered these plant once!

Wet jiffy pots, into solo cup, one watering, grew moves to final 5gal pot with moist soil.
Seem like nothing right now but I’m sure that will change soon :thumb:

Happy Wednesday growers

So things are looking good still not much to update, here’s a photo on the early miss, she’s going crazy!

Tents doing well, weathers changed a bit , cooler temps outside but everything holding well, added a 5th light in the tent, a flowering bulb, working upto adding another one , seen people have grown autos with 3bulbs each of both flower & veg in the 6bulb hydrofarm. Just sorting things out slowly for their environment.
So far they’re happy so don’t wanna rock the boat

Yesterday the clip fan slid down at some point in the day, was 29.5c I was panicking lol
But got it under control and used zapstraps to help hold it up, they slide on the bar so it’s still adjustable

Also added another little fan just to help with temps and keep the girls waving In the breeze

Two pics of the same,
One has numbers of nodes..... am I counting right?
Is it topping time?

Think just gonna let the widow go intself cause to runty, but the Em is thriving!

Enjoy the day all

Nice work! It's hard making that first cut but now time to breathe a sigh of relief as it rebounds with growth :)

I buy the full strength pH up and down solutions, and dilute it for gallon and smaller batches of water/nutrients. I have both the full strength and diluted solutions in the dropper bottles.

FYI there are about 100 drops in a teaspoon. It usually takes about 3-4 drops of the 10% solution to bring a quart to where it needs to be. Five gallons takes 5-15 drops of the full strength solution de[ending on the nutrients. pH swings will damage you plants, as will pH out of the range where the plants can use the nutrients.

Looking forward to using this......
They gotta need water at some point!

They look great and meter says there’s moisture..... following Emilya’s method...

Thx again old salt
