How much do you have to put in jar to test humidity when drying it?

When you are drying your bud and you think it is ready to go in the jar to cure how much do you put in the jar to test it with a hygrometer? I tried the wait until the twig would snap but then the bud was very dry. Would like 1 gram be enough in the jar with the hygrometer that when you close the jar it gives you the right humidity to know if you can take the plants down to cure? What humidity do you like to first put the bud in the jar when you do it for it on there?

Fill the jar 3/4s of the way full and let sit for 1 hour at room temp. If humidity is 60-66 you're good, keeping in mind the higher the humidity the more you need to burp.

Thanks. How many days do you usually wait when drying to test it in the jar? Do you hang the whole plant or trim it first when you do that for it on there?

when hang drying, it depends on temp and humidity and can be anywhere from 3 - 7 days sometimes more. It's better to pull them early than too late. I dry in a fridge now so I wait about 12-14 days before I test.
