How often should I change my Hotilux super HPS 1000 watt bulb?
I swap mine once a year when I do the smoke detector batteries.

I'll agree with Riflleman it is around 12 to 18 months of total growing that the bulb will loss aprox 10% efficiency but good brand names can go longer than cheaper bulbs !
10% not a great deal in difference that may effect yield tho.
Most Hps have around 20.000 hours life span that is around a few years of growing if i care to do the maths, ya more likely ok for a 1/3 of total life before it drops off to much.
