How to transplant from gro bags without damaging the plant?

Using shears to cut them away from the root ball?

That's the way I start is by cutting the bag down the sides by 4-6 cuts right after I dump what medium out first. Now probably the worst thing about it for me is the bottom where the roots are matted the bottom of the bag. In some cases I have some roots growing out the bottom of the bag, I just cut them off and don't worry about it, she will recover from it. One thing I have done to help out the roots to separate from the bottom is to wet the crap out of them and let them sit for awhile and they will loosen up some but it will not keep all of the roots from sticking to the bag.

Thanks for the reply.I was afraid of this. The roots are coming out the bottoms and sides, wanted to use the fabric bags again, maybe I can just trim them off flush, hydrate, then pull it out, chit man,I don't know!back in the day it was different, I had 4 hands and was a lot younger,Peace!

As long as they're still in veg, growing and healthy, they should easily be able to repair themselves.
