600w LED, Organic Super Soil, fabric pots,
Green Crack, Exodus Cheese, Black Destroyer and White Widow!(stuff I forgot to mention in the title ;).

Greetings and welcome to everyone! All opinions, advice and questions welcomed. Please do not take offense if I choose not to follow your advice, thank you :)

Now then... I'll cut right to the chase. This is my 5th grow, 4th for indoor. They are in veg, 4 1/2 wks from seed.

4 White Widow (random)
2 Exodus Cheese (Green House Seed Co.)
1 Black Destroyer (Original Sensible Seeds)
1 Green Crack (Humboldt Seed Org.)

Plants will be grown in two 4'x4'x6.5' tents, each with a 600w 9band LED(200 3w chips). Starting off in one tent and expanding to the other after transplanting to larger pots. They started life in 1/2gal fabric pots w/ FFOF(Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil). Eventually they will move into 5gal or 7gal fabric pots with, a basic organic soil top layer over a 2-4" base layer of organic "super soil".

Basic organic soil used, consists of:
Aged sawdust, bark, potash, compost, silica sand, loam and sand blended with kelp meal, fish bone meal, alfalfa meal, and Mycorrhizal fungi. (I will mix in perlite to my liking)

Super soil used, consists of:
Black Bark Dust, Pumice, Peat Moss, Perlite (fines), Garden Compost, Dark Fines Forest Humus, Agrarian Compost, Bio-Char, Coir Pith, Azomite (Volcanic Rock Dust), Fish Bone Meal, Feather Meal, Organic Calcium Sulfate, Organic Limestone, Alfalfa Meal, Dried Poultry Manure, Kelp Meal, Mycorrhizal Fungi, Humic Acid, Bat Guano, Worm Castings. (Again, I will mix in perlite to my liking)

With this mix I should, hopefully, be able to just add water .

Started germination, late evening 11-29-16,
in 1/2gal fabric pots w/ FFOF under 2 100w CFLs.g

(Image is before I put the CFLs above them)

4 White Widow (random)
2 Exodus Cheese (Green House Seed Co.)
1 Black Destroyer (Original Sensible Seeds)
1 Green Crack (Humboldt Seed Org.)

Had meant to have a little more in that initial post. Accidentally tapped the create button, oops ;) Realized I forgot to mention they re on a 17/7 light schedule. Here are some pics to bring you all up to speed.

Here they are on 12-8, day 4

Looks good, :goodjob: i like the sound of that black destroyer lol. Ive been looking into super soils lately, interested in seeing how this mixture works for you. :passitleft:

Hey Demon42069, thank you :)
I used this mix for my outdoor this past season with very nice results .

I'm hoping it does as well indoor!

Hey KGB, your plants are looking great! I've just started a grow and will be creating a manifold as well.
Just curious what your reasons are for using this technique.

Hey Mittin, Thank you!
I decided I liked the manifold technique after growing out two Sour Diesel ladies from seed. On my 2nd grow I let one go with no training, switched to flower at 18" and she stretched to 37", harvested a dry weight of 60g. On my 3rd grow, after a bit more exploration into various training methods, I tried an 8 top manifold with a seed from the same batch. She only stretched to about 30", and I harvested a dry weight of 108g. It was enough to convince me that it made a difference :) So I decided to try it on a few different strains this grow. Although I don't have a pic of the untrained one, here is a shot of how I structured the manifold and one from about 7wks in flower...

Looking good KGB. How old did you say these ladies are?

Hey Mitt,
They will be 5wks old this coming Monday. Here's a shot of the white widow this morning...

420-magazine-mobile25349497.jpg

They are ready for their next topping and to have those first branches LST'd out to the sides a bit, within the next day or two

Howdy folks ;)
Had enough time this evening to get everyone topped and LST'd .

The Exodus Cheese #2 is still pretty small so I decided to let her grow without LST at the moment. Although I did top her

Hello again :)
Looks like everyone handled their topping and training well :)

They all seem to have perked up nicely and are reaching for the light .

That made their second topping, and they all now have 4 nice equal tops :)

Hey everybody ;)
Just thought I'd pop in for a brief update. As of today they are 5 1/2 wks old. All the little ladies seem to be doing well, except for the Exodus Cheese 1. It was still very small and only has 3 fingered leaves so far. I decided to pull it out. I took a few pics, I want to show you guys the root ball these girls get going in the 1/2 gal fabric pots...
First, here are a couple shots comparing EC1 to EC2 so you can see how much smaller she was than her sister
EC1

EC2

Not sure if you can tell, but the soil under EC1 is completely full of roots :)

After shaking a bit of the dirt out...

Then the rest of it(gently)...

It's a nice thick mesh of roots .

Here are a couple group shots so you can kinda see how everyone else is doing ;)

Looks like they might be getting a bit hungry for some nutes. I'll be transplanting this coming week into 7 gal fabric pots with some nice rich organic soil. If it looks like they're getting too needy before then, I may give them a small dose of some FF nutes.
I think that'll do for now. I'll be back for another update soon, probably when I transplant unless something interesting happens between now and then. Hoping you are all doing well. Thanks for checkin' in :) ✌️.

Hey looks good in there :thumb: transplant will prob make them explode in growth, think ffof only has nutes for 3-4 weeks.

For your soils, did you buy them or make them? I can't find a good recipe for basic organic soil to make myself. Don't want to have to buy potting soil every grow i use my super soil. :thanks: :passitleft:

Hey Demon, Thank you!
In the future I'll be making my own soil :)
Right now there is a local forest products company that makes both the basic and the "super" soils. I used the same combination with my outdoor this last season and had some tasty results . I'm hoping it will do well for indoors as well.

Hello once again .
Hope you are all doing & growing well!
I managed to get all the girls transplanted this morning :) For anyone not familiar with transplanting out of small fabric pots like these, I've found that running a knife around the inside of the pot to loosen the sides helps...
a4e895dfdfbc339718da3653592073b0.jpg

Then I lay the pot on its side, facing away from me, and pinch the bottom edge while pushing forward with my thumbs, and rotating the pot, to move the root ball out(gently). It should start to slide forward and out easier and easier. You should be left with a complete root ball .
6e8e6d1cde2acd0ca964bf0ac180736f.jpg

It's kind of difficult to tell, but there are little root tips all over it just waiting to stretch out into their new soil. If anyone knows of another good/different way of transplanting with similar pots, please feel free to share :)

Here they are in their new/final pots...

(from the back right going clockwise - White Widow 1, WW 3, WW2, Black Destroyer, Exodus Cheese and Green Crack)
7 gallon fabric pots - 13"D x 12"H
42b3462219ae0305955c3fd004494cf6.jpg

There's not a whole lot more to say for now. I'm going to let them grow out enough to take some clones at this point. If I'm not rushing through things and forget, I will take some shots and explain how I do this. Because happy roots make for happy shoots... .
f2d174f8bdbe545d027ba614794b912d.jpg

Then I will LST the 8 new tops out a bit and let them grow . I'll check in for another update if anything interesting happens or when I top them next. Hope all your plants are growin' strong and you're havin' a great day! ✌️.

Greetings from the Pacific Northwest! I hope you're all doing well on this fine damp morning ;)
Expanded to two tents. Two groups of three in each 4x4 with a 600w LED above each group. Kept the three White Widow together in the tent on the right. The Black Destroyer, Green Crack and Exodus Cheese are together in the left.
d79bcdb6e33e6899eb470783b0b424cb.jpg
Had also meant to mention that these are all Indica dominate hybrids, except the Green Crack which is mostly Sativa. They all have a flowering time of about 7-8 weeks. I chose strains with similar traits in the hopes that they might have a somewhat equal rate of growth. Seems to be working out fairly well .

Thanks for stopping by.✌️.

Hey Mitt,
Not sure if I'm allowed to say the brand, as it's not from a sponsor of the site. If you or anyone knows if it is ok, please let me know, thanks! I'm slowly getting closer to 50 posts and will be able to message you the name then, unless I find out it's ok.

Till then, they are 9-band 600w made up of 200 3w Epiled chips, two large cooling fans and can be daisy-chained together .

I also have two 300w lights(same chips as the 600w) and one 1800w COB panel from the some company and have had very good results ..

Greetings once again ✌️
All the ladies had their third topping last night. They now all have 8 main tops .

I had let the 4 tops on each grow out to the 5th or 6th node. Then took the tops, at second node, to make clones of each in case something turns out to be exceptional ...

6 plants with 4 tops each makes for a nicely filled tray with 24 clones, they're under a 54w LED strip light...
6816a920a12ed14a3775ee2cab40eee4.jpg

I decided to forgo the showing of how I take my clones, as I'm sure there are many tutorials available already. If anyone is curious as to how I go about it, let me know, I'll be happy to explain. Here is a shot just after the LEDs went out...
daf5b140686ff9ab6a1ffb6267d6b5e3.jpg

The plugs in the middle tray are what I usually use, but they were out at the shop and so I decided to try the Coir pellets and see how they do.
I think that'll do for now. I hope you're all doing and growing well . Thanks for checkin' in .✌️.
