Whitley County, Ky. WYMT - A 29-year-old man was arrested Monday for growing marijuana, according to a release from the Whitley County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies went to a home in the Siler community to check on a tip about marijuana being grown, the release noted.

Deputies said they saw some marijuana plants and told Jesse Hembree he was going to be arrested. Hembree shut the door and deputies had to talk to him through the door before they were able to get inside and arrest him, according to the release.

After detained Hembree, deputies said they found more marijuana: some of it planted in the ground and some in pots.

More than 26 plants believed to be marijuana were taken from the home.
