Greetings, community! I'm currently navigating the process of obtaining a medical marijuana card and wanted to hear about your experiences. How did you approach the legalities in your state? Any challenges or unexpected hurdles you faced during the application process? Let's help each other out by sharing insights and tips for successfully obtaining a medical marijuana card.

Welcome to the group. I noticed that you joined awhile ago and hopefully you find participating to be helpful and fun.

Was thinking that you might want to mention what state you are in and the near-by big city. No address or any of that but enough that people in the same area can mention their experience. They can tell about what they had to do and where they ran into a minor problem, etc. Or give suggestions on doctors who will listen to you and sign the application

I am not, nor have ever been, a medical card holder. A few things that I have noticed about card holders is that they have a set of rules that they have to follow but if medical is all that is available then for some it is the way to go.

Sometimes, when a state goes recreational legal the new regulations have more advantages. Examples that under recreational laws the person might be able to grow more plants. Or, the person can possess more harvested buds, etc.

Another thing to think about is whether getting a medical card means that you have to allow the state to access your house/property if you are growing. If you think that recreational is coming to your state in the next several years it becomes a question of whether you want to wait till then.

Move to California. No card necessary.

Great points! Considering your state and nearby city can indeed add valuable insights for others in the same area. Sharing experiences about the application process, potential challenges, and recommendations for understanding doctors can be immensely helpful for those seeking a medical card. Your observation about the advantages under recreational laws is spot on—comparing the regulations can guide individuals in making informed decisions.

Even when CA required a medical Marijuana card, it was very easy to obtain one. Look up the maladies your state says it helps, then go to a Dr. who is willing to prescribe marijuana (there shoul be list on-line), and let him know you have one or more of them. There were whole medical groups (doctors) who did nothing but write MM scrips, $100.
