My wife has stage 4 cancer

Hello everyone. This is the first time on this site for my wife and I. We will both be using this user name to cut down on the traffic. Our story is a sad one but an all to familiar one. A little over a month ago we were living a normal life (work, paying bills, vacations, no worries). My wife started complaining of lower back pain. we went to the doctor and was told she probably pulled something. She was also complaining of some numbness. They sent her for an MRI. They sent us two hours away to a specialist for the results. This scared us right of the bat. I thought she was going to need surgery for ruptured disc or something like that. We did not recieve that kind of news at all. The doctor informed us that she had a golf ball sized tumor in her spinal cord. The doctor also was concered that there might be more but this tumor was threatening paralysis and would have to be surgicaly removed. She was scheduled for surgery two days after that but first she went through 3 more hours of MRI's from the top of her head to the base of her spine. We returned the following day for the results terrified. The doctor grabbed a box of tissues and told us she had 5 tumors. 2 in her spinal cord and 3 in her brain.....we were devistated. My wife was admitted into the hospital for surgery in the morning. She made it through the surgery with slight never damage to her leg.(slight numbness) but the surgeon informed me that they were milignant. He continued to say that none of these tumors were the primary sight of the cancer. He also told me that through other test (CT scans ) they had seen a mass in her breast and would biopsy while she was in recovery in the ICU. They did and found that to be the primary site (Breast cancer). She is only 40 and fighting for her life going through radiation and chemotherapy.
She smokes and it helps her with her appetite, nausea and pain but we live in a very oppsed state where even saying the word marijuana would get you arrested. Its hard to find and alot more expensive then I remember. I am thinking of growing but everything I have read is overwhelming. I have a great green thumb but science seems to have taking growing to another level. I dont understand alot of the lingo being in my early 40's myself. I would appreciate any suggestions.
I will do anything to help my wife she is the other half of me and I love her.

Re: My wife has stage 4 cancer.

First off, welcome to 420 1bigbud. You are correct in noting that science has taken growing to another level. Your going to find a lot of people here that can help you out.
First off, you need a plan.
Are you Thinking of doing Soil or Hydro. Hydro is indoors and your plant will grow faster.
If you do indoors your going to have to set up a room (a closet is good) with good ventilation.

Now you state you live in a very opposed state where even saying the word marijuana would get you arrested. Where do you live? And CocoJoe is right, if possible to move to a state like California, Colorado or Michigan, I would do so. You can have legal grows there if the Dr. your wife sees will prescribe the medicine.

If this isn't a possibility, then I think a good stealth Hydro grow is the way for you to go.
You want to note that word "Stealth". You tell no one about the grow. I have a Stealth grow going right now in my closet. I keep it so Stealth I have to take out 10 screws out of the panel just to get into my closet room, that is in my bedroom and I keep my bedroom door lock at all times.

If you do a hydro grow, I would suggest Bubbles.
I am a bubble head and you can find us all here at

There are a lot of great people there to help you out.
If you want to see my grow Journal and room, just click the link below, above my Bubble Head Icon.

Again Welcome to 420, I am sure you will find whatever info you will need to have a successful grow.

Re: My wife has stage 4 cancer.

best of luck 1bigbud....hang in there and try to stay positve...do you know if your town/area has a hydro friendly store? if yes you should start there....you can ask questions and get great help but remember not to use certain words or phrases. let them know you are growing a flowering plant they will get the hint....then search the grow section of this forum and try to follow a stealth/micro grow journal....and ask questions.

good luck and stay positive
