Question on gluing air stones in bubble cloner

Hello all, I am building a bubble cloner and I see that some people glue the air stones down with a hot glue gun, I was wondering is there any chance that the chemicals in the glue can get into the water in the plastic tote? Thanks all.

I'm not a hydro guy,but the hot glue sticks are likely made of the same
plastic as the tote you're using,so you'll be fine-they don't put off toxic crap like other glues-once the
glue cools,it's just plastic.
