Switch from soil to hydro

Stuck in 60s

New Member
Hi guys, long time lurker, have a quick question. I have a couple of new plants from seed, about 3 inches tall. Have to get rid of them and a buddy that grows with hydro will take them....but, they are growing in soil. Is there a way to switch from soil to hydro on a gradual basis? Any help or direction is greatly appreciated, need to do this fairly soon. TIA

Take them out of their cups or pots carefully and put them under running water at about room temp, make sure the waters not running too hard, just enough to help break away the soil from the roots... You wanna try and clean as much of the dirt away as you can without damaging the roots, you should be able to get them pretty clean. Once they're clean, your friend should be able to transplant them into rockwool or straight into a net pot and carefully place the hydroton or whatever medium he uses around the roots and stem but you need to do this all at once so as to not shock them too bad or let the roots dry out.

311---thats what I'm talking about! Thanks bro. Sounds like it just might work and its sure worth a try. Will discuss this and depending on results will post back in case someone else could use the info. Much appreciated.
