Alright so having almost all my growing equipment and having set it all up and having had time to find any possible problems I decided to germinate an extra white widow seed I had to act as a test run for my **real** first attempt. Well, I decided I didn't want to just chuck away a perfectly good seedling and having room in my tent for a third bucket I decided to grow this one as well. Anyways here we go.....
Let's start with my set up.....
I germinate the seeds in my bed room closet with the following equipment:
240w 450 blue/12k white LED w/ 12" oscillating fan under it to keep hot air pockets out of closet
25 L tupperware container with snap on lid w/ 3 holes drilled in it, one on the lid, two at the base (they're about 1/2cm in dis.)
analogue thermometer/hygrometer in tupperware
small empty mason jar in tupperware
small mason jar w/ cold water in tupperware (acts to keep the box humid and as a heat sink incase the temp. goes to high)
hydrofarm analogue timer w/15 min increments and two out lets
Once they are ready to be transplanted this is what they are put in....
Tent
2' x 4' x 6' mylar coated grow tent w/ two 4" ports and one 6" port. Also has two covered mesh openings along the bottom length wise and width wise
Hydroponic system
3 five gallon buckets for drip ring hydroponic system. They each have the following, 6" net basket, 70GPH pump leading to a 6" drip ring, two 2"x5" air stone, three 2"x4" air stones
Hydrotron clay pebbles as inert growing media
Oxygen induction system
Dual outlet 8LPM air pump
Two 7LPM air pumps
10 gallon capacity air pump
Lighting
300w 6-band/ir/uv/12k white LED
240w 450nm blue/10k white LED
150w 670nm Red LED
Venting
4" inline fan @ 183w & 213cfm
carbon filter
4" ducting connecting the two and the fan to the tent
6" clip on intake fan

This is set up in my bed room as it's the only place where I can grow in my apartment, the only bad part is that it gets bloody hot in here especially in the summer. That's why I have the chillers and a/c.
Anyways on to my grow log, here it is.....
GROW LOG
JULY 14th/2015
-Soaked rock wool cube (1") in pH 5.9 tap water (@15ppm TDS) for 1 hour
-Placed white widow seed pointy side up about 1/4 of the way down into the cube and covered with a small ripped of piece of r/w.
-poked in 4 tooth picks making a cross into the r/w cube, suspended over a 1/4 pint mason jar and put in closet
-set 240w LED to a 18/6 light schedule, starting at 7am ending at 1am, hung it 2m above plant
-mixed up a weak nutrient solution to use to keep the tupperware humid and r/w cube moist. It consisted of 500ml of tap water (15 ppm TDS) mixed with .2ml AN g/b/m nutrients that yielded a solution that was pH 5.9 and 150ppm
JULY 15th/2015 - JULY 18th/2015
-No growth yet, nothing has broken from the top of rock wool
-Average daily/nightly temperature is 83*F in tupperware
-Average humidity is 75-85% RH
-Misted once daily with weak nut. solution
JULY 19th/2015
-Seedling as broken out of top of cube and has top two leafs as well as two smaller leafs under it
-No visible roots out of cube
-Seedling is a nice is a nice deep green colour and looks healthy
-Temperature is 83*F
-Humidity is 80% RH
JULY 20th/2015
-Seedling has continued to grow taller, adding a small, yet noticeable increase in height over night
-Tap root extending about 1/2 of a centimetre out of bottom of rock wool cube (this is why I hung it over a cup, so it wouldn't get wet ant icky)
-Mixed up new 500ml nutrient solution of .2ml AN g/b/m giving a pH of 5.9 and TDS of 154PPM
-Misted tupperware
-Temp. 85*F
-Humidity 80%RH
That's all for now, and Ill be sure to update every few days or when something big happens! This is my test run, to let me dial in my noob skills so my first real grow of my other two seeds will go as well as it can.
