worms/catipillars?

i found 1 worm/catipillar type bug (like the ones on tomatoe plants) on each of my sisters outdoor 2 plants. does anyone know how to stop them from eating her girls all up? they are so hard to spot becuz they blend in so well w/ the plants infact im sure her plants probably have more than those 2 little 1's i found.

I had them in my tomatoes.They can be a pain.I got rid of mine at night with a flashlight and a pair of scissors.They even look like a tomatoe on the inside after you cut em in half.

I believe they're called hornworms.
