Elsmere police on Thursday arrested a Wilmington man who officers say was in possession of 8 ounces of marijuana.
Police said Danny Cleaver, 28, tried to conceal a bag of marijuana inside his shirt after he was pulled over for failing to wear a seat belt.
Cleaver was arrested and charged with marijuana possession, providing a false statement, and hindering prosecution. He also was cited for a seat belt violation. He was arraigned on the charges with cash bail set at $32,001, according to police.
Cleaver’s vehicle and $1,225 in cash were seized “as proceeds of his drug sales,” police said.
