I'm sure you have these items lying around. You can do perfect LST with these simple things that don't cost a penny.
For hard plastic pots, if you don't have pre-made holes in them, you can use any of the following:
Push pins are my favorite, they push in quite tightly and have plenty of room for the pipe cleaners:
You can also use cheap document clips on the edges of the pot, and paperclips. Look around your computer desk....bet you have some lying around.
Fabric pots and smart pots are easy fixes. My favorite is the broach pins that are bought by the bagfuls at craft stores for making jewelry.
Don't have those? Bet you have safety pins....
And again with the paper clips:

Your bread bags have the little plastic clips on them. They clip on the fabric pots perfectly and hold very well:
