Seed for Next Season

Since the local collectives have been banned from selling clones, traveling for hours to hopefully find the strains I want just doesn't appeal to me. I can just see driving all the way to the bay only to be told, "Sorry. Just sold out on that one..."

It's frustrating.

So last night I went online to the Single Seed Center to peruse the seed offerings there. I didn't find my beloved Aphrodite, but there sure are some very interesting strains to feature in The Grove.

Here is what is soon to be growing into mother plants this winter for the 2010 growing season:

From Seedism Seeds--BLZ Bud (feminized)--a G13 hybrid, 50/50 indica/sativa.

Looked like a Powerful Plant, so had to indulge.

From TH Seeds--S.A.G.E. (feminized)--a Haze/Indica cross

Watching Dain Bramage's grow on these--they should be dynamite.

From Sweet Seeds--Black Jack (feminized)--a wonderful Jack Herer x Black Domina hybrid.

From De Sjamaan--Purple Widow--a cross of Purple and White Widow.

Pretty plant. Hope Pretty Is as Pretty Does.

From Nirvana Seeds--White Widow

Finally decided to try White Widow. I've seen several gardens with poor specimens, I'd like to see what I can do with it.

From Nirvana Seeds--Swiss Cheese (feminized)--a cross of Swiss Miss and Skunk #1

Had to try some Cheese. This one looked like a good one to start with.

From Nirvana Seeds--Purple Power--a cross of Holland's Hope and Skunk #1

I've grown Hollands Hope several times over the years, and although it seems to not enjoy popular acclaim as a medicinal plant, it has sure held up to some high expectations in my garden. It'll be interesting to see what it does crossed with the incomparable Skunk #1.

I don't know what to think of feminized seeds. Granted, it's nice to know a girl is gonna pop out of that shell, but are there any drawbacks or is it all cake?

Fanstastic list there Irish

I'll enjoy watching them grow ;)

It's going to be a circus in the 2010 grow journal for sure. *LOL* I've gotten lazy over the years since clones became available. And I've always been the worst at germinating seeds, my best success was seed straight into soil--in pots or more often, right into the ground. I've never been able to keep a plant alive indoors, so failure to thrive has been a big issue with me, and mostly because I'm naturally absentminded when I'm not totally focused on whatever it is that I shouldn't be absentminded about (sometimes better, sometimes worse when high, but always been like this and just can't be helped). If something isn't holding my interest, I'll never be able to remember what I should.

That being said, this Winter my focus will be on germinating seeds and housing my mother plants. Indoors.

To make it interesting enough (I hope!) to keep on top of, I've decided to make my drying/curing room a propagation/veg room, and I'm sure it's going to house more iddy biddies than I'm allowed. *LOL* (gotta get my Aphrodite back to slay this ubiquitous anxiety that keeps dogging me--I keep thinking, "I'm breaking the law! I'm breaking the law!" and I know I'm not doing anything morally or ethically wrong, and then that Irish ire rises up and I don't care if it's more than I'm allowed, there is nothing morally or ethically wrong with what I'm doing, and dammit, I need to learn more about these strains! *LOL*)

Anyway, to make it even more interesting (for me at least), I'm going to be using LED lights.

:allgood::cheer2::allgood::cheer2::allgood:

Four Chinese made 13.5w blue Xen-lux panels
One USA made 90w Hydro Hut UFO red/blue/white configuration lamp

Price was a huge factor in my choices, both the initial buy price and the cost of operation. Most US made LED panels were out of my reach financially, but the Hydro Hut had some real prices that even I (and I'm sure a lot of other people on a similar budget) could afford. So I hope this all goes well. If not, I'll find someone better than me to get my clones from.

Why don't you breed. Just use a healthily male of the same strain as your female. I mix Match ,but I have been out of the growing for some time but I got a seed of my last cross well 14 of them and 9 hatched. Blue Berry Minny Mites with white widow .It worked out that I got the taste of blue berry and a little more of a kick which is from white widow and they grow a little taller and they look cystleish blue short Of speak.
The reason why I started again is that a friend it teaching me how to make feminized seeds.
What i do in at flowering when sexing it take my best female and put back in vegg for my mommy then I let the rest go .I usually leave one male in there ,the strongest one and when harvest time comes I get seeds ,but i usually make oil out of the crop but don't need to ,you will still get high if you use a strong strain. I disinfect the grow box then use my mom for next harvest which will all be female ,note you have to clean you room really good disinfect and let sit for a bit then wash out really good don't worrier you clones will need a little time to grow in the vegg room hanging with mom.
I do by seeds time to time but it is nice to have a couple hundred or so on standby
