I m am a comercial grower. I use hortilux 1000 watt hps bulbs. My hydro bills are very high as each bulb cost about 25 dollars per month to run. Mostly I grow large shows 20 lights or more. I have read alot about the led grow lights however and they look promising. The thing is my system is tried tested and true it produces and it makes money and keeps alot of people in smoke. The prospect of running leds is appealling especially the lack of heat they put off and minimal hydro draw. The cost is scarey for a twenty light grow it would cost about 25000 dollars to put out and I dont know for certain that they work as well. All i know about them is what ive read. But given the lack of heat the leds produce they would be well worth it if they work properly. Has anyone tried led vs hps on a bigger scale like a 4 or 5 light grow. I m thinking about trying something new. Maybe
