  • i'm not so good at figuring out how to post directly to someone so i guess i'll do it here-where ever that is : ) so, to sweet sue- my pain is chronic for the past 20+ years. i have been on opiods the whole time. since i retired (early) i was determined to see if i could get off all the narcs, and i was on a lot. i took dilaudid and ultram for breakthrough pain, and morphine er daily- 180 mg daily for years. it did make life tolerable when i had to work. i have fibromyalgia, myofascial pain, severe arthritis in my lower back, and occasional knee/elbow issues r/t arthritis, trauma, and partial meniscus tear. 2017 i had surgery on both feet to treat the arthritis that made walking difficult--which thank god it did work. i had a L rotator cuff repair the same year as well as a hemangioma removal of the L great toe. i think the restless legs are exacerbated by withdrawal of sorts. anyways, things have been rough. the only reason i could retire early was because my husband died in 2010. i just want to walk around my yard in peace, relatively pain-free, to look at my babies-flowers and plants, birds and butterflies---nothing would make me happier. it would be nice to do some raking every once in a while. oh, yeah, the reason i think topical will work great for me is that when i was still on the opiods, i had a medical marijuana card, i tried almost everything, spent a lot of money. out of frustration r/t spending all that money and nothing working- i cut open a vape cartridge, removed what oil i could, mixed it w/lavender oil to thin it and some lotion---then i applied it to my elbow and within seconds the pain i had moving my elbow disappeared. i did it whenever i needed it for a few days, then i had no more pain for weeks. that was last year and only now is my elbow beginning to act up again. well, i guess i rambled on long enough, i would like to say thank you to all that replied to me with love, suggestions & ideas, and support.

Well..... Lost that entire message I composed for you Mary.

So sorry you're having so much frustration with dispensary prices.:hug::hug: This is precisely why we encourage growing your own, if possible. I can't believe how easy it was to begin growing for my own use.

Anyway, as you discovered, a decent topical can be a godsend. If you're looking for guidance in making a potent topical I'd suggest Magnus8's topicals study hall over in the Medical Marijuana Firum, the Methods of Medication sub-forum.

How fortuitous that in your exasperation you broke that vape pen open. I'd suggest you find or make a potent topical and use it constantly and everywhere. The creams are life changers IMO. It can be the way to getting you out there in your garden. You already know the feeling of doing so pain free, and it's that feeling you hold onto and hold firm to in the face of anything else. Then watch it come to be. :battingeyelashes:

I was able to retire when my husband died too. Took me a while to get used to that idea.

Are you off the opioids Mary?
