• Hello Sweet SweetSue, First I would like to say thanks for all that you added to my grow including the information you added to Dr. Ziggy's Low and Slow , which is ongoing as I write. Today I am looking for another kind of information, I need to do some research on what strains are most effective for Cervical Dystonia, I have read that you are very informed on the subject. Please direct me to what you think is "must reads" if you can. I have the terpene charts and have studied it but am always looking to expand my knowledge. I hope you have a Very Merry Christmas and a fantastic 2020 <I:) ***

    Hey... Merry Christmas.
Hi. Can I ask for your help? My father is diagnosed with kidney cancer(LIGHTCELL KIDNEY CANCER) with metastases in several places(Liver, lungs an one rib) and he is prescribed smart drug Sunitinib which is a targeted therapy and is a receptor protein-tyrosine kinase inhibitor. It inhibits the actions of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and is an angiogenesis inhibitor. We would also like to try RSO oil along with that therapy. Will they work together or will they cancel one another?
Also, we decided he will take oil in pills, oral way. is that a good option?
I know you are busy, but I lay my hopes in you...
    SweetSue
    SweetSue
Lay your hopes in your father’s ECS, since that’s where any relief will begin and end. The body is marvelously wired to spontaneously heal, once we get our disbelief out of the way.

I don’t know anything about the current smart forms of chemo, but I can tell you that using cannabis oils in conjunction with chemo will potentiate both medicines, so it’s an option I’d definitely explore. The standard is a dose of cannabis 30 minutes before a chemo dose to protect the healthy cells.

It’s important to let the medical support team know what you’re doing with cannabis. It may be necessary to back off the chemo drugs a bit, and they won’t know to do that if they’re unaware you’re augmenting with cannabinoids.

I don’t see how they’d cancel each other completely out, but I can see some potential for interference. If it were me I’d be exploring anal suppositories, with shallow insertion to limit any euphoric response. You can up the cannabinoid count more easily with suppositories than by any other common method of administration. The meds get delivered right to the lymphatic system where the immune system can make the most use of them.

We have a thread dedicated to treating cancer with cannabis.

A Base Treatment Regimen For Cancer

You might want to engage those members that watch over the thread for more insight. I maintain the thread in Cajun’s honor, so I’ll watch for you. We suggest you read the first couple pages and then jump to the current page to engage the community in your search for relief.

    I have a non-cannabis prescription for cancer, if you’ve a mind:
    1) Find someone in your life who will hug you every day and hold that hug for at least twenty seconds, which is long enough to initiate a healing tone through the body.

Do this faithfully every day. Try for more than one a day. :battingeyelashes:

    2) Find someone who will devote a block of time a day where the express purpose is to make each other laugh so hard your sides ache. :laughtwo: Make that laughter session last at least ten minutes.

    Do this faithfully every day.

Laughter is the best possible medicine, and I’d venture a guess that there’s too little of it going on in your family at this time. Do your best to change that reality to a more spontaneously joyful tone.

Laughter releases systemic tension like nothing else. Less tension = more signaling efficiency.

The doctors can be so caught up in fighting the cancer that they neglect the impact all that fear has on the patient. It’s helpful to remember we are hard-wired to heal and much depends on how you feel about what’s going on around you.

It’s also helpful to remember that we all have a terminal moment in this plane of existence. There are no guarantees he’ll survive this, but regardless, cannabis oils can make a significant difference in quality of life while you figure out how to let healing and relief be expressed.

Best of luck to you and your loved ones.

Hi! I really enjoy your information and the time you take in sharing...it is truly awesome! I just got an Instapot and am trying to make tincture for my son. We are trying to avoid the pitfalls of the VA drugs and wanting to do this. Smoking helps but tincture and butters seem like the best move for long term. I see lots of recipes for butters but no tinctures. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you

Hi Paula. You’re smart to explore edible regimens. I have a picture tutorial on alcohol-based tinctures. Quick and effective when dosed, they take effect almost immediately after administration under the tongue.

Alcohol tinctures are a quick response, but short-lived. Effects will wear off within an hour in some cases. They’re still an invaluable tool for those moments when relief is needed immediately.

I’d suggest you look into infused oils and explore some micro dosing to help him create a more even tone. If you need more help with that you have only to ask.

Good luck. I feel confident you’re on a good path.

Does dosing rectally, 00 capsules 4 times per day 1/4 gram in each, cause significant drowsiness?
    SweetSue
    SweetSue
If you’re getting drowsy Cat I say it will. :laughtwo:

It would depend on the depth of insertion. To keep from having the systemic effects like drowsiness and overwhelming euphoria you insert shallow, just inside the sphincter muscle.

Deeper insertion gets the meds absorbed straight to the liver, and then all bets are off.

May I ask, why the gram a day? We’re discovering that the ECS is more easily coaxed to wellness with smaller doses scheduled across the day, as you’re now doing. We have some methods of increasing bioavailability that other sites may not be taking advantage of that can be used to reduce cannabinoid loads while simultaneously increasing medicinal effectiveness.

Smaller doses mean less undesirable side effects.
It's like you're running a "Dear Abby:" column, 420-style! :laughtwo:

Any recipe that uses butter or oil can be upgraded by using canna butter or infused cannabis oil (I’d go with coconut oil). I don’t make cookies myself, so I have no recipes to share.

There’s a forum here for edibles. I’m sure someone there has posted some. Bonsaiweed was creating links to member recipes when he passed away. You may find one you like here.

Everything I've read about using VG to make a tincture with the mbm and pg to make it more vape able l, using a mix of 70% VG (tincture) and 30% pg
But some people are saying it's not worth it and other people saying yes it's great
Have U used or no of anyone using the method?

Good day BakerT. I have problems with vape juice made this way, because I’m not personally comfortable with those vapors in my lungs. It’s not something I’ve tried. In the end my modest understanding of the ECS suggests that this might be more stress to the system (something the ECS has to focus on to overcome) than any euphoric benefits I might get.

VG is notoriously poor at extraction efficiency, when compared to something like ethanol, so extending the extraction time can increase uptake.

@BakerT, I asked DrDoob about the VG mixes and he shared this:
“They don’t often make cartridges with PG and/or VG anymore because they have these sweet ceramic cartridges now instead of cotton wicking cartridges. “

Hope that helps. The ones I get are made with terpenes.
Sweet Sue. I've already sent a message to Tangwena but i wanted you to know too. You're knowledge and insight into cobbing has given me many ideas in which to enrich the overall outcome of my own cobbing experiments. Perhaps we, you, tangwena and myself could bounce some ideas off one another.
Hey sweet sue, hope you can help me, I’m currently in a state of mild panic/information overload. It’s harvest time around here and with that being said it’s also my first! Exciting stuff and you guys have helped me so much, I figure you’ll be able to wipe away my worry. So you and dr ziggys low and slow method of drying is what I’ve chosen to go with. Last night I chopped three girls, hung to dry for a little over 4hours, then jarred up the buds with panty hose over the mouth of the jar. Then into the frost free fridge they went. I took out my drawers and loaded that space with 1quart canning jars. today there’s some condensation on the inside of the jars, while the hygrometers read very high 90-99% RH. Here’s the source of my worry. Do I need to do something about the condensation, are they jarred too early, though furcifer specifically says hang 4 hours and then jar up. I went to the store today and bought paper bags just Incase I need to switch over. Please as soon as you would be able to answer me the better. I have 4 other girls sitting in the dark currently awaiting chop! Thanks! Mush love!

    Hello Merkaba

It's normal for the humidity to spike at first. It'll drop off in a day or so. If it's not too much trouble though, I'd switch to the bags. In my experience the bags make the whole process go much easier.

If you choose to stay in jars it'll still work, so stay strong. :laughtwo: You're doing ok.

I read through a bunch of pages trying to find it but would you be kind enough to let me in on the best method for bags? How much can you fit in each? I assume you only want to layer the bottom of the bag not stackn them for surface area?

Well I may just switch over, I don’t like the idea of condensation in the jars(some are very wet) and the ability to switch out bags if they get wet appeals to me

Hello Sue, what does demethylation mean.. I'm new to all this and am trying to treat my newly married daughter in her early 30's of stage 4, inoperable cervical cancer. I am in the UK and have some RSO and am unsure whether capsules or oral application would be best. It seems like a mine field. Many thanks, Denise X
    SweetSue
    SweetSue
Welcome Denise. If it were me I’d be doing a combination of administration routes, and with cervical cancer the majority of it would be used as vaginal or anal suppositories. That way you get the cannabinoids closer to the cells needing help and you can ramp up THC values a bit more.

I’m sorry to hear this challenge presents itself in your lives, but you’re on the right track with the concentrated cannabis oil. I understand how daunting this can feel, particularly when it’s a beloved child needing our assistance. We have a couple threads you may find useful.

A Base Treatment Regimen for Cancer was started by CajunCelt. I always recommend you read the first two pages before engaging members on the current page. It’s this thread where most of our guidance for cancer dosing will be done.

To answer your question, demethylation is the process of clearing the methyl groups of molecules that will congregate around a cell receptor, making it unusable. When we introduce cannabinoids to the body it can be enormously helpful to have as many available endocannabinood receptors ready for the business of signaling.

Something as simple as drinking green tea or eating dark chocolate will suffice to keep those receptors open for business.

Biobombs: Cannabis Oil With A Kick was started to refine the suppositories Cajun recommended. These formulations are intended for suppository use. If making biobombs for oral use we suggest 100:1 when mixing the carrier oil and CCO (RSO).

Anal suppositories are easier to control euphoria with. A shallow insertion allows the medicine to be absorbed into the lymphatic system where it’ll be most useful, avoiding the First Pass through he liver.

On the first page of his thread Cajun introduces you to the supplements that’ll greatly enhance bioavailability by keeping the enzymes that metabolize THC and CBD busy. We’ve learned that two capsules 30-45 minutes before a suppository dose will have a dramatic effect on the efficacy of the medicine. The two capsules is our baseline. Less than that and you lose effectiveness.

Take heart. There’s much to be hopeful for. If you live near her I’d recommend my favorite prescriptions for cancer treatment:
    1) Hug her at least once a day, holding the hug for a minimum of three slow, deep breaths. This therapeutic hug releases a mass of healing hormones that’ll benefit her healing journey.
    2) Take time every day to make each other laugh as much as possible for at least ten minutes. Laughter may be the most powerful healing force we have available. It’s elimination of tension throughout the body allows the ECS to work more efficiently.

The human body was evolved to heal, spontaneously and continuously. The less tension we carry the easier it is for the body to heal. I wish you years of laughter with your darling girl.

Thank you so much Sue for your time and sweet sentiments, you are so helpful. I have ordered apigenin and amentoflavone to keep her liver busy and have purchased an alkalinity water dispenser, alkaline tea and so many recipe books.

Hugs and kisses are the order of each day.

Do you think the biobombs would be OK to use in the lady area once per day and taking the other two doses twice daily per new starters instructions ?

    Hugs and stuff,

    Denise XXX

To be certain I understand correctly, you’re talking specifically about getting sativa benefits in edibles? That would simply be a matter of choosing the favored sativa and then finding your most preferred method of making edibles.

We have a forum dedicated to methods of cannabis medication, including edibles. You’ll find those threads at Cannabis Edibles.

    Hi again!!!!

I've been doing a little bit of reading.
I take some oil a few times a day, just as like "a shot," or whatever.
But I was wondering if you feel like, being I ingest it that way, there is a major difference for absorption etc, in a tincture. And is it something worth trying?
    SweetSue
    SweetSue
It’s always a good idea to come in from different pathways. Tinctures can offer a quick absorption when made with alcohol. They burn like the dickens, but passes quickly, and dropped into a drink it’s not bad. Almost instant relief, much like the hit from a joint or vaporizer, but without all the smoke.

They can be nice, stealthy dosing options. You can drop them onto food too. My daughter carries a tiny sample bottle that only holds a milliliter for emergencies. She said a couple drops under the tongue does her well and hits instantly.

The effects wear off after about an hour. Like combustion and vaping, the cannabinoids activate those receptors in the brain quickly and then get processed out of the body.

Through the gut, with a long-chained fatty acid as the carrier, the cannabinoids go to the lymphatic system first, so by using different pathways we increase the field of opportunity. Increase the diversity of your cannabinoid and terpene profile and you further expand the field.
