Not better Emilya, just alternative. I never feed from the bottom, but water only. I'm aware of dunking, but have never practiced it, though it seems a good idea for the reasons you stated. Imagine, if you will, a 16 plant sea of green in soil, 1/2 gallon nursery containers in 1 sq ft reservoirs...
